5 Strategies for Content Creators in 2026

Updated: Feb 18

It would be harder for me to quit podcasting than to keep doing it, because that is how committed I am. Here are five things you have to do in 2026 as a content creator. You have to.

Let's get into it.

I've been talking to a lot of people about their businesses and the tasks I complete for my business, and I am often asked for advice. Here we go!

First: be loud.

Now, if you are rich, or if you have a famous name, you probably get attention already. You already get some kind of buzz. The rest of us... we have to talk. We have to enunciate. Because nobody is just walking around saying, la la la, I wonder if I should just give my money to someone today. Nobody is doing.

You have to be loud because people need your services but they do not know where to find you.

In November 2024, I was in line waiting to vote and chatting with the people in front of me. I don't remember the subject and honestly it didn't matter because we started discussing podcasting. I mentioned my podcast, You Are A Lawyer, and the perks of being a lawyer. The person I was talking to, their daughter-in-law was like a law librarian or something. My friend turns around like, "I knew that was your voice. I knew that was you."

Yes, it was me talking to a complete stranger about podcasting. Why? Because I am the podcast lady. I talk about podcasting absolutely everywhere.

I am loud about podcasting. I am loud about how podcasting can boost your business.

I don't care if you talk to me about grocery stores. I can relate that back to a farming or energy effeciancy podcast that I listened to. I am obsessed with podcasting. I am loud about podcasting and how podcasting can boost your business. I am loud about how podcasting has impacted my life.

You don't have to worry about anybody else whispering my name in rooms, because I am loud about it.

Second: you have to craft a story.

I'm not talking about makeup lies. I'm not talking sharing lofty ideas or exaggerating. You have to tell a story. Now back in the day we used to say that you needed an elevator pitch. What's your elevator pitch? Elevator pitches were needed in case you were in the elevator with an executive or big name person and needed to tell them about yourself quicker and succinctlyYou only had twenty-seven seconds to pitch your idea and hope that it was memorable. In this remote and digital world, we don't have those kinds of opportunities anymore.

What if we didn't have all that time to build that rapport?

What would I have say to a stranger?

Hey, oh my gosh, my name is Kyla and I'm a storyteller. I launch podcasts for business owners and high-level executives who want to share their expertise. Why? Because social media is not marketing. Newsletters only matter if you have a list of subscribers. But where will I find the people to share these stories? Through social media. Videos and blogs and consistent content allows you to share fragments of your story that will add up to storytelling and hooking an audience.

You're a business owner who's bored with social media? You're a business owner that doesn't know what to do when the apps change their algorithms? Hire me!

Third: you have to be willing to do the work.

If you are unwilling to do some hard work, you probably don't need a podcast... yet! You can always hire a podcast strategist or manager to learn more about podcasting and to handle the work you do not want to do. But without motivation, you won't even look for a podcast manager. You can read all the motivational books but if you do not internalize the content, you will do act. If in the back of your mind you are saying that this isn't important; then you will not progress.

You must know that you know that you know you are going to create a podcast and succeed. If you know that you are unwilling to do the work, don't attempt. You won't hurt my feelings. You will disappoint a big audience of people who want to learn from you and discover your services.

You must decide if you are willing to do it. You must decide if you are unwilling to do it. But you have to listen to yourself and be honest. And if you are uncomfortable with being honest, then you just have to practice. When you are honest with yourself, that will make it easier to be honest with the podcast audience.

And if you think this newsletter is too spiritual for you, you are wrong. You must set your mindset to be bold and accept visibility. Podcasting is about more than editing audio.

Fourth: podcasting will boost your other brands.

If you have a business social media account, when you are on social media, engage with it. These apps (literally all of them) do not like ghost accounts. If you post on social media but the apps never see you liking or sharing any posts, they will not boost your content. Social media apps make money from your attention; literally your eyes being on their apps.

When you schedule fifteen minutes liking other people's posts, boosting their content, congratulating them, and sharing it in the stories, people will engage with your content more. Why?

Again... ghost accounts are the worst. And I don't mean that burner account that you use with your cousin to look at your exes profile. I mean an account where you only schedule content through a third-party app and are waiting to go viral. **insert the sound of crickets* *When you used social media in a passive way, you will get passive results. Hint: you do not want passive results.

Fifth: consistent content creators will win in 2026.

Listen to me: people want to give you their money.

  • They want to find you.

  • They want to resonate with your story.

  • They want to be excited that you boost other brands.

  • They want to hire you.

They cannot find you.

You are inconsistent. You are here today; gone tomorrow. That means if you feel good, you're going to do the work. If you wake up with a cold; you refuse to do any work. This is not going to fly in 2026. If I wake up with a cold, maybe I can't record because my voice is too nasally, but I can read books all day (prep for my book review YouTube channel). I can edit videos content for my podcast or book reviews. I can send follow-up and cold pitch to new business owners.

You have to commit and you have to be consistent.

Part of committing to running my business is getting ready for the day. I like to put on contact lenses. I like to put on makeup and even earrings. I like to do all of that stuff to record. When my husband runs out to grab the baby and I have twenty minutes in the house by myself, I can also record with glasses on and I will still release it.

I am committed. I am consistent. That is how I know it would be harder for me to quit doing what I'm doing than to keep doing it. That is proof of how consistent I am. It's 2026, you have to commit and work. Like these are the five things that you have to stop joking with and and just do them.
